A Higher View of Mindfulness

I'm a big fan of mindfulness, and in awe that its value has become so widely accepted and promoted these days.  Encouraging the practice of presence, stillness, neutral observation, conscious awareness - that's something my clients hear a lot of from me.  And yet, I see the mind, and therefore mindfulness, as only a step toward a greater awareness - that of the greater part of us that may be called the Divine, or the Spirit, or God, or That Which Is, or no name at all.  In this blog, Michael Hayes does a wonderful job of describing how mindfulness can be used to move into that higher awareness.  If you're unfamiliar with Michael, I hope you'll enjoy his perspective and insight.  He's a friend and a mentor to me, and I'm always grateful for the gifts that he shares.  Link here.
